(82) VYAKHYANMAHISHO DIVAM |
This great sun illuminates the heaven.
The energy and light emanated from the sun is of a lot of use to earth. Similarly the scholars impart knowledge to all and enlighten the minds of the ignorant. Therefore we should take inspiration from the sun and should work constantly so that we become prosperous and successful.
(83) RAJA RITEN VIVVRIDHE |
The king benefits by speaking truth.
The kind who adheres to righteousness and truth becomes famous and immortal. By doing so the kind is favoured by all and is honoured. As a result the king becomes all the more prosperous.
(84) URU BAVYUTHIHI ABHAYANI KRINVAM
May he, whose path is wide and broad, protect us.
Every person becomes successful corresponding to his or her limits and capabilities. Capabilities should be honed or sharpened so that they are successful in removing all the obstacles and impediments on the path towards our goal.
(85) ASMAN AVANTU TE DHIYANA |
May your intellect protect us.
One can imbibe only that amount of knowledge that can be absorbed by the intellect. On being blessed by knowledge we are naturally protected because we become immune to purity ignorance and frivolity. Therefore we should always engage in activities that help us to enhance our intellect.
(86) BHUYASA TE SUMATAO VAJINO VAYAM
May we become equally intelligent, alike you and become strong.
We pray to Indra so that we become equally intellectual and prosperous as him. As a result of this we can become equally radiant successful and prosperous as the Gods.
(87) MA NA STARABHIMATAYA |
May pride and ego never plague us.
We should guard ourselves from pride because pride of wealth, energy and knowledge shall only lead to misery. Pride takes the person to the Isles of nothing.
(88) TVAMAM HI SHOORAHA SANITA CHODAYA MANUSHO RATHAM |
You are brave and benevolent. Incite the desires of human beings.
Here we pray to Lord Indra to incite the desires so that we can fulfill them and become prosperous. The person who lacks inertia should practice self-study and introspection and try to enkindle the flame of knowledge within us. This flame of knowledge shall help us to inspire ourselves and help us to tread towards our goal.
(89) SAHAVANDASYUMAVRATAMOSHAHA PATRAM NA SHOCHITA |
Alike Agni, who incinerates everything according to its capability, you destroy the wicked and the ignorant.
Those who are not assiduous, who are engaged in wrong deeds and do not adhere by the vows definitely end up in misery.
Therefore we should avoid bad deeds and fulfill all our vows.
(90) MANASHCHINMANASANSPATIHI |
Realise the potential of the mind and reign over it.
That person, who introspects and contemplates, enhances the potentiality of the mind. He gains controls over the reins of the mind and command it . Therefore one should practice concentration and take control of the mind.
(91)SARASWATI STOMYA BHUT |
The Goddess of knowledge Saraswati is worth praising
Worship of Goddess Saraswati helps us to enhance our memory and intellect. Therefore we should all take guidance and imbibe knowledge from the Guru. In this way we shall become enlightened.
(92) TATSA VITURA VARENYAM BHARGO DEVASYA DHIMAHI
DHIYO YO NAHA PRACHODAYATA |
May we meditate upon that radiance by which Savita inspires and enlightens our minds. One should always concentrate on the energy that inspires us because by doing so the flow of inspiration within us is maintained.
(93) KETUM KRUNVANNAKETAVE DESHO MARYA APESHASE |
SAMUSH ABHDIRJAYATHAHA |
O Humans! The sun rises after dawn. Similarly bless the ignorant with knowledge and the ugly with beauty.
The Sunrays bless us with knowledge, good health and radiance, Therefore we should respect the greatness of the Sun and we should imbibe qualities of knowledge and radiance from him.
(94) HOTA DEVO AMRTYAHA PURASTADETI MAYAYA |
VIDATHANI PRACHODAYAN |
Agni, which is used in the Yagya, always inspires the Gods to perform their duties and very swiftly keeps moving.
Similarly we should take inspiration from Agni and imbibe it. We should, therefore, always work towards our goal, selflessly.
(95) SA E NAMADA MAHI KARMA KARTAVE MAHAMURAM SAINAM |
They inspire us to do great, heroic and noble deeds.
It is our duty to get inspired by the knowledge given to us by the noble souls. By acquiring all the knowledge one should engage in good actions, constantly.
(96) SADYO DASHUSHE KSHARASI |
The donor immediately begets the fruits of his actions.
The donor is always blessed with happiness and prosperity. Donation, is the greatest form of virtue, Which is why we should be always willing to donate. By donation, the means of earning wealth relatively increase. The Lord also blesses them who do charity.
(97) DADHATI RATNAM VIDHATE SUVIRYAMANNIRJANAYA DASHUSHE |
Agni blesses that person with success and wealth who performs the Yagya and donates benevolently. Those who are inspired by Agni tirelessly and selflessly work and donate accordingly. They are blessed with the fruit of liberation and enjoy the real happiness of life.
(98) DADGAJJYOTIRJANEBHYAHA |
Give light to the people.
Agni and the Sun are eternal sources of energy. We should imbibe the qualities of the Sun and Agni and work selflessly. As a result we shall become famous and successful.
(99) DAHI VISHWASMADRAKSHASO ARAVNAHA |
O Agni ! Protect us from the ominous, demonic forces and the diabolic tendencies.
The person who is plagued by diabolic tendencies cannot do charity. He is always engaged in bad karma. So we pray to Agni, so that he protects us from all these evils present within us. We should therefore imbibe good qualities and thoughts.
(100) CHIKIDVI BHATI BHASA BRIHATA |
A scholar is always radiant, by the light of knowledge he possesses.
Scholars enhance their knowledge by donating as much knowledge as possible. Therefore we should acquire this knowledge and use it in day to day life. By doing so the flame of knowledge burns all the more brightly.
(101) SAHA TIGMAJAMBHA RAKSHASO DAHA PRATI |
O Agni ! Destroy one by one all these diabolic forces. Here we pray to Agni so that he may vanquish all the ominous, the devilish forces tendencies present within us and inspire us on the path of righteousness and truth.
(102) MA BHEM MA SHRAMISHMOGRASYA SAKHYE TAV|
May we neither fear, nor become tired by your friendship.
He, who has undeterred devotion and faith towards the Lord, is blessed with perseverance and moral strength. Such a person does not fear and nor does he get tired. On the contrary he fearlessly treads on the path of truth and righteousness.
(103) UTO KRIDANT DHITYO DEVANAM NAMA VIGRATIHI ||
The fingers of the scholars are always engaged in constructive activities. He who is always assiduous and diligent is always a scholarly figure. Such a person seldom likes to waste his time. He engages in work and strives for perfection. We all should imbibe these qualities and become alike the scholars
(104) MA NO AGNE MAHADHANE PARA VARARBHARA BHRUDYATHA |
SAMVARGA SAM RAYIM JAY |
O Agni ! Don't keep us away from strife and turmoil. May we be blessed with wealth and be prosperous.
We should imbibe qualities of fire and should take active part in the struggle or maelstrom of life. In return we shall definitely earn wealth, become prosperous and successful. We should suppress all our weakness and tread on the path of growth.
(105) VISHNOHO KARMANI PASHYAT YATO VRATANI PASPASHE |
O Human! Think of those heroic deeds of Vishnu and follow them after contemplation. We should imbibe good thoughts and actions and perform our duties accordingly. By doing so we can become successful in all our pursuits .
(106) RITASYA PATHYA ANU |
The knowledgeable always tread on the path of truth and righteousness.
The scholar who incessantly performs his duties is always successful. He who treads on the righteous path is always enlightened. Therefore we should also engage in good actions and deeds.
(107) SO AGNIRYO VASUHU |
Agni helps all to settle well.
He, who knows the art of treading on the path of knowledge, knows the art of living. He who does not struggle does not gain anything. We should imbibe the qualities of Agni and should bring them in practical usage.
(108) PRETA JAYATA NARA |
We should dare each and everything and should not hesitate to sacrifice ourselves in the maelstrom of life. Without orienting ourselves, we cannot expect to be victorious. Therefore the struggle for attainment of truth shall unequivocally yield good benefits,
