Arun Pathak, a Shiv Sena leader, has announced a reward of Rs 1 crore for beheading three people arrested for allegedly killing Hindu Mahasabha leader Kamlesh Tiwari in Lucknow. "I believe that no legal procedure should be followed against the people who brutally killed Kamlesh Tiwari. They should be beheaded in the same style. Thus, I, Arun Pathak, announce a reward of Rs 1 crore for whoever beheads the killers. I will give this money to their family members," the Sena leader said in a video statement he shared on social media.
Three accused confess the murder
Gujarat Anti-terrorism Squad (ATS) DIG Himanshu Shukla on Saturday has revealed that all three suspects – identified as Maulana Mohsin Sheikh (24), Khurshid Ahmed Pathan (23) and Faizan (21) – who were detained have confessed to the crime, as per sources. Sources report that Gujarat police has spoken to the conspirators' brother who had allegedly asked Tiwari for an opportunity to work with him, before allegedly committing the crime. Police are still on the lookout for the other two suspects who were allegedly involved in the crime.
Kamlesh Tiwari's murder
On Friday afternoon, the former chief of Hindu Mahasabha Kamlesh Tiwari was shot and succumbed to injuries after he was taken to Trauma Centre in Lucknow. Preliminary investigation on Friday revealed pictures of two men donned in saffron attire outside his home. While the assailants managed to flee the spot, a revolver was also recovered from the site of the crime. Police stated that the accused spent around 30 minutes with him on the pretext of gifting him, sweets. The police registered an FIR on a complaint filed by Tiwari’s wife where she accused two persons of having threatened to kill her husband in 2016.
