The Festival of Lights Cultural Program will be held Saturday at Century High School.
A cultural program will take place from 5 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. and dinner will run from 7:15 p.m. to 8 p.m.
The festival of lights is to celebrate Diwali, one of the major festivals of Hinduism. The day spiritually signifies the victory of light over darkness, good over evil, knowledge over ignorance, and hope over despair. Its celebration includes millions of lights shining on housetops, outside doors and windows, around temples and other buildings in the communities and countries where it is observed.
The last day to buy cheaper tickets is today at Rice & Spice or online at histemplemn.org. Tickets costs $20 for adults ($25 at the door) and $16 for children and seniors ($20 at the door). Price includes admission and food.
The event, which is sponsored by the Hindu Same Temple of Minnesota, will feature an Indian talent show and ethnic food.
