The word '𝑲𝒂𝒍𝒊' originates from the Sanskrit word 𝑲𝒂𝒂𝒍, which means "time."
Maa Kali is the pure, un-manifested, timeless energy, the 𝘼𝙙𝙞𝙨𝙝𝙖𝙠𝙩𝙞. She is regarded and revered as one of the fiercest Devis, who annihilates arrogance within a person. Her uncontrollable fury which can potentially destroy the three worlds, can only be calmed by Shivji Bhagawaan.

Maa Kali is depicted with four arms. With two hands, she holds a sword and a severed demon's head respectively, representing the fierce battle in which she destroyed the demon, 𝑹𝒂𝒌𝒕𝒂𝒃𝒊𝒋𝒂. Her other two hands bless her devotees, granting them liberation from the physical world. Maa Kali wears a garland of skulls and a skirt of dismembered arms symbolizing the ego that is separated from one's identity . Her dark complexion represents the womb from which all creation springs forth and into which all of creation will ultimately return.
