The top court also made it categorically clear that the remarks by Rahul Gandhi on the verdict have been incorrectly attributed to the court. Last week, the Congress chief had said that the "Supreme Court has made it clear that Chowkidarji has committed a theft."
Soon after, BJP’s Meenakshi Lekhi filed a petition in the Supreme Court claiming that “the words used and attributed by Rahul to SC in the Rafale case has been made to appear something else. He is replacing his personal statement as the Supreme Court’s order and trying to create prejudice.”
While filing the petition, Lekhi had said that SC's verdict was being misused by a person who's himself out on bail. "This is completely bereft of facts. So people who are themselves corrupt are making this accusation is one part which we can fight at any public platform but dragging the SC in this battle is uncalled for,” Lekhi had said. __TimesNN
