Ujjain: The administration has formed a committee to look after the arrangements of the religious and cultural programme to be held in the city from the time to time. The meeting presided over the by divisional commissioner Ajeet Kumar was held on Wednesday at Brihaspati Bhawan. During the meeting arrangements to be made were mulled by the officials. The meeting was attended by collector Shashank Mishra, SP Sachin Atulkar, municipal commissioner Pratibha Pal and other concerned officials.
It was decided in the meeting by the administration on the occasion of the festival Mahashivratri the entries for the devotees will open from 4am after the bhasmarti and the bhasmarti to be held on just next day of Mahashivratri will start from 12 noon on March 5am instead of 4am. The commissioner instructed the officials to make the arrangement properly.
During the meeting, IG Rakesh Sharma insisted on the promotion of the event and appealed devotees not to form a queue before the scheduled time of the entry for viewing lord Mahakal. Elderly persons and differently abled persons will be provided with special facilities to make an entry in the temple. IG Gupta instructed to arrange drinking water, mobile toilets LED screens for devotees. According to officials on the occasion of Mahashivratri Narmada water will be supplied to the river Kshipra well in advance so that the devotees may take dips at all the ghats of the river Kshipra.

The administration informed that cleanliness will be maintained all the ghats of the river and mobile toilets, clean changing rooms for women and medical facilities will also be provided to the devotees at all the principal ghats of the river. Over 200 home guards and 125 professional swimmers with motorboats and life jackets will also deploy at all the ghats of the river. The commissioner also instructed to the relevant department for making arrangements of barricading at all the necessary places to control the crowd. Over 1200 cops will be deployed on the occasion the commissioner informed.
Silver flag to be handed over to Somnath temple trust
Assistant administrative officer RK Tiwari of Shri Mahakaleshwar temple management committee (MTMC) told that Shaiv Mahotsav is organized at every jyotirlingam across the country every year. The last year the programme was organised at Ujjain and this year it will be organised at Somnath on February 23, 24 and 25. The silver flag by the MTMC on behalf of Mahakaleshwar temple was handed over to a team of priests which will participate in the programme in Somnath. The team will hand over the flag to Somnath temple trust. __TFP
