VHP welcomes Centre's move to return 42 acres of land to Ram Janambhoomi Nyas
New Delhi, Jan 29 (UNI) The Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) on Tuesday welcomed the application of the Union government to the Supreme Court for returning 42 acres of land of Ram Janambhoomi Nyas in Ayodhya to the organization.
"The Nyas had obtained the land for the construction of Ram Mandir," said a statement from Alok Kumar, International Working President of VHP.

Ram Janam Bhoomi Nyas, it said adding - the land under litigation that is where the disputed structure
existed, admeasures only 0.313 acres.
All another land including of Ram Janambhoomi Nyas is not under any dispute, it said.
"The Supreme Court had said in a case that superfluous land should be returned to its owners," the statement said.
The reactions from VHP, a strong proponent of the temple movement, came shortly after the center on Tuesday moved an application in the Supreme Court saying it is "duty bound" to return to Ram Janambhoomi Nyas and other owners the land adjacent to the disputed site in Ayodhya.
The VHP in its statement said the organization hoped that the Supreme Court will "expeditiously decide" the application filed by the government of India.
