Prayagraj: The Indian Railways authority have announced that it has planned to run 800 special trains to carry the devotees to the Prayagraj which is the destination of the Kumbh Mela.

The North Central Railway Administration will run 622 trains, the Northeast Railway 110 while the Northern Railway will run 68 special trains. The North Central Railway released the schedule for 322 of these special trains on Thursday.

The Uttar Pradesh government has planned to declutter and manage the crowd of devotees that the state will be witnessing during Kumbh by scheduling the run of trains from different directions. The scheduled trains will be running from the Deen Dayal Upadhyay Junction, Manikpur, Fatehpur, and Kanpur.

The North Eastern Railway will run trains from Rambagh (Prayagraj City) and Jhansi Junction. The city will receive devotees from all over India. Trains from Varanasi, Maduwadih, Gorakhpur and Bihar will also carry people to the Kumbh Mela.

Rest of the special trains will run according to the crowd. The railway officials believe that running the trains according to the pre-announced timetable will help in managing the danger of overcrowding well.
