Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) in association with several social organisations organised three-day long free medical camps in the flood-hit state and provided medical aid to around 1,400 patients in different areas of Jammu district.
VHP in association with Bhartiya Jan Seva Sansthan ( BJSS) and Baba Amarnath Yatri Niyas organised the medical camps from September 13 in different areas of the district, a statement issued by the right-wing outfit said.
At least 1,400 flood affected persons were examined and provided free medicines, donated by Young Blood Association, Jammu and Baba Medicos Satwari, it said.
VHP general secretary Sham Lal Gupta assured people that the problems being faced by them have been brought to the notice of civil administration and the required assistance will follow soon.
2,000 kg of cattle feed was also distributed among villagers for their livestock and assured that cattle feed for one week shall be supplied in Hamirpur village of Akhnoor free of cost by the VHP team, it said.
